The enemy of art is the absence of limitations
— Orson Welles

None of the Above Media was founded in 2024 by writer, director, producer Angelica E. Gayle. Having worked on some of the world’s biggest feature films over the past few years including Barbie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and A Quiet Place: Day One, she has a broad range of experience in the Film & TV Industry.

Our aim is to tell thought provoking and intelligent stories for screen with an emphasis on inclusivity and diversity in front of and behind the camera. We understand the lack of diverse voices in the Film & TV Industry and how this can make creatives devalue their stories and feel as if they likely don't belong in this industry. We aim to change that and embrace our differences by being "None of the Above".

None of the Above Media has several short and feature films in development and is looking to connect with talent all over the world who are from marginalised communities with unique stories to tell.

About the Founder x

Angelica E. Gayle (the E. is essential!) is a 23-year-old filmmaker and Development Assistant, proudly born and raised in London. A multi-talented artist from an early age, she discovered her passion for fine art during her school years before transitioning into acting, writing, and filmmaking. At just 17, she produced her first short film with the support of the BFI Film Academy.

Angelica honed her craft at The BRIT School, earning a UAL Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts in 2018. A year later, she was selected for the prestigious BFI Future Skills Programme in partnership with Lucasfilm, where she worked as a Script Trainee on James Mangold's Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Since then, Angelica has gained valuable experience in production and served as an agent’s assistant at Lark Management. For the past year, she’s been working in Development at The Ink Factory Films, who are behind projects like The Night Manager, The Little Drummer Girl, and Hotel Artemis.

Angelica’s debut short film, Roach, screened at the BAFTA Qualifying Norwich Film Festival in 2024 and is currently making its way through the festival circuit.

Her all-time favorite film is Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread, and she draws inspiration from the works of filmmakers like Greta Gerwig, Martin Scorsese, Billy Wilder, David Lynch, Orson Welles, Powell & Pressburger, Luca Guadagnino, and Yorgos Lanthimos.

A film she could watch endlessly? The Apartment.

“Film is not just a job or hobby for me, it’s my soul.

It’s the soul I have in the present, but also the soul of my past self and the soul of the person I will become. I wish to champion voices in cinema that are unrepresented and provide them with spaces to tell stories which make their heart sing.

We want to make content for the commercial market, but execute it in a way that’s unconventional. None of the Above Media celebrates auteurism and fundamentally, leads projects with an open heart and kindness!”
